Students Division Schedule |
|
Students in the Student’s Division (SD) are interested in experiencing ballet as a form of recreation and appreciation. Students beginning at age 8 will enjoy the study of Classical Ballet, as well as the opportunity to explore other dance disciplines through our Enrichment Division. Each student progresses at their own rate. Therefore, level advancement is based on an individual basis. It is not uncommon for a student to spend more than one year in a particular level. Student Division Level Descriptions · Ballet I is designed for the beginning Ballet Student. Body placement and basic technique is the focus. This level is split into two age groups for the comfort of our students. · Ballet II continues the training which began in Ballet I by increasing their physical vocabulary. · Ballet III is an intermediate level. Building their physical vocabulary and solidifying their technique is the focus. Please note we do have an Intensive Division for those who would appreciate a more rigorous training schedule. For more information on the intensive division please consult the “Intensive Division Class schedule and Description” or speak to Mrs. Payne the Academy Principal. Class attire for ladies in the Student Division is basically Black Leotard, Pink tights, and pink canvas split-sole ballet shoes. Please consult the student handbook or “Policies” handout for the acceptable leotard and shoe styles. Class attire for gentleman in the Student Division is basically White t-shirt, black tights, thin white ankle socks, and white canvas split-sole ballet shoes, and a male dance belt. Please consult the student handbook or “Policies” handout for the acceptable shoe styles. |
