General Policies

Attendance

  • Regular attendance is expected and essential for a student's successful progress.  Lack of attendance will impede your child's progression.

  • Make-up classes are allowed and must be made up within one month of the missed class, based on availability. Schedule make-ups at the front desk.

Classroom Etiquette

  • Students arriving late must check in with the Academy registrar for a late admittance slip. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late to their scheduled class will not be admitted.  Also, students not admitted to class due to tardiness are not eligible for a make-up class!

  • Listening to your instructor during class is expected.

  • Please, no talking in class.

  • Thanking your instructor at the end of class is proper etiquette!

  • Food, drinks, and chewing gum are not allowed in the studios.

  • Hair must be secured neatly and pulled back away from face.  A bun is always preferred.

  • No jewelry in class.  (Pierced ear studs are acceptable.)

General Academy Rules

  • We encourage parents to observe classes.  If you are observing with children, it is your responsibility to be certain your child is not disruptive.

  • No running in the halls.

  • No loud or unruly behavior.

  • Dance clothes may not be worn outside the building.  Students must always cover up with "street clothes" when entering and leaving the building.

  • Students not in required attire are subject to removal from class. Street shoes should be worn in and around the building.  NOT in the studios.

Inclement Weather Policy

Classes are occasionally canceled because of extreme weather conditions. The Academy closes when  Conroe Independent School District closes due to extreme weather only!  If weather conditions worsen after 3:00 pm, contact the Academy office to confirm whether or not classes will be held.

Holidays

Labor Day* September 6, 2004

Thanksgiving* November 25-27, 2004

Winter Break December 20, 2004-January 2, 2005

Spring Break March 21-26, 2005

*Make-up classes are provided for these holidays to ensure

everyone receives 38 classes!

Required Attire

Ballet:

All ladies in the student division must wear the following:


Pink footed tights, Pink ballet shoes, solid black leotard or the leotard color for your level. 

NO Skirts, NO Shorts, NO Warmers!


All Gentlemen in the student division must wear the following:

Black full length tights, white t-shirt with no printing, White ankle socks and white ballet shoes


All ladies in the children division must wear the following:

Pink footed tights, Pink ballet shoes, solid black leotard.

NO Skirts, NO Shorts, NO Warmers!


All Gentlemen in the children division must wear the following:

Black full length tights or black athletic shorts, white t-shirt with no printing, White ankle socks and white ballet shoes

NO Cut off tights, NO Sweats, NO Warmers!


Jazz & Tap:

Ladies  Leotard and tights or Jazz style pants.  Black Jazz or Tap   shoes

Gentlemen T-shirt and Jazz style pants.  Black Jazz or Tap Shoes.
